It mostly seems as though Italy's involvement was actually worse than if they had never entered the war

I've been reading a book based on the siege of Carthage and at one point with in the book, there are some Romans in the City and they talk to the guard, and the guard says something along the lines of "you don't look like you're from around here, you look Roman". Is there any records of these people having very distinctive looks, such as Asians, Blacks and Caucasians have today?

I have a hard time believing that the rural farmer's wife would willingly cripple herself for the sake of what seems to be a very odd cultural fetish.

Been reading 4 Stars of Valor and during Operation Market Garden one of the main German highways revolved around this park.

What did the Junkers and the general old-guard of the old establishment think of the Nazis and of Hitler/the Holocaust? What was the general public opinion of the Junkers, what did the Nazis/Hitler think of the Junkers? What role did the Junkers play in Nazi Germany? Did they continue to hold posts reminiscent of their place as the service nobility? I'm curious about what happened to that people/culture that Bismarck resided in. Thanks!

I'm interested in finding out at which point the classical word order of Latin, which often placed words in order of emphasis, was replaced by the more modern format of: subject-object-verb. (Sorry if this only applies to English medieval texts)

It just seems to me that in a time before modern nation-states, calling it a war against Spain is somewhat misleading. If I'm understanding it correctly, most of the armies fighting in the war were mercenaries, with no real nationalist basis for fighting. Likewise the monarch appeared to own the Netherlands mainly as a personal, dynastic possession, with no real ties to Spain.

If this is too broad, feel free to focus on both specific countries and/or time periods.
I'm assuming these various styles, like any cultural and societal aspect, change over time. I'm just curious to hear how much or whether it is even possible to know.

The revolution was supposed to be a somewhat new beginning filled with equality, freedom and liberty, however, war and destruction came about from it.

There are many examples of untreated copper being used on the exteriors of buildings and other architectural projects (Nordic Embassy in Berlin, Kresge Auditorium at MIT, and plenty, plenty more). My question is whether there are any sources which show that the architects for the Statue of Liberty were planning for this effect, or if it was an unfortunate (and now-iconic) accident on a shining copper monument to the ideal of liberty?
A mockup of what the statue would look like without patina, from the tv show Fringe

How did this happen? Was there a famous Slav who served in the Spanish government? Why is Spain apparently the only non-Slavic country to use this name?
As a somewhat related question, what ties were there between Spain and Russia in the eighteenth century and earlier? Did they have much diplomatic interaction at all?

Did they not learn that guerrilla tactics used in the French and Indian war, a hundred years prior, were less costly?

Certainly there are many exceptions, but generally those are the stereotypes. How did it become that way in the Western world? Are the any examples of the opposite being true: men with long hair and women with short?

Correct me if I'm wrong but it is my understanding that America(and I guess the rest of the world too) were unaware of the concentration camps until the very end of WW2. However, everybody knew that the Jews were taken. Were we actively looking for them or was it just by chance. Was that commonly talked about. "Where did all the Jews go?" What was the general consensus?

I've always been curious and I've heard stories about the prehistoric people of Baffin Island in Canada, particularly referenced in this article: http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2012/11/vikings-and-indians/pringle-text
