5th Grade American Revolution Resources.

by yd_dr

My son has an assignment to look up terms and events from the American Revolution and to write about them. I'm really only finding sources that are quite a bit over his head.

Does anyone know of a good American Revolution book/site/etc. that does a good job of speaking on a 5th grade level?

The Library of Congress has a little site but it's kinda dated/cheesy, I don't know if he'd like it. PBS also has a nice LIBERTY! site.

If this isn't due tomorrow, I'd really suggest you take him to the public library on Saturday and have him talk to a children's librarian, homework questions (finding high quality resources that are age-appropriate) are their absolute bread and butter. I'm an academic-focus librarian so I'm struggling. (edit: also his school librarian if your district still has one)
