Is there any evidence that Krishna was a real historical figure?

This is something i've always wondered about hinduism, Krishna is a central figure of the religion and is alleged to have been a human being who lived around 3000 BCE, I could never find any sources that would affirm or disprove the idea that there is any actual evidence of his existence and would like to know where historians weigh in on this issue.

This question is perhaps one of the popular ones, and keeps on popping up. Unfortunately, the answer is no.

Since currently, there are no clues supporting the argument, it is impossible to reach a verdict whether he was an actual individual or not.

The reason for this is because writing in India only started around 3rd Century BCE or so. That means, if there was someone before that time frame, and we find an artifact claimed to belong to an individual, then we have no way of knowing for sure, since it would not be written "This property belongs to Krishna" or something of that sort.
