I don't know the answer to your misgiving about whether this is an appropriate post, and therefore I don't know whether it's appropriate to respond to it, but I'll take a chance.

In answer to your basic question, no I at least was not aware of it.

And I must say I've got some doubts about the third step in this process:

>Anybody can answer
>The best answers are voted up and rise to the top

What keeps "best" from meaning "funniest" or "most popular" or "most clever" rather than, say, "best sourced" or "best reasoned" or "most knowledgable"?
