Just came upon an old personal photo album from my Great Uncle during the Pacific War

by bforwil

Can anyone give any more information on these photos or their authenticity? My Great Uncle was listed as an Aerial Gunner-Top Sargent-Crew Chief on a B24. I know that the first three aerial photos are of Mili Atoll, Nauru and Wotje Atoll; also the photos of the Japanese soldiers on the beach and the dead Japanese soldier was found on the body of a Japanese Officer on Guam. Thanks! ALBUM

The three "bombers" appear to be F-7/F-7B, the photo-recon variant of the B-24. Along with the aerial photos, one could surmise that your Great Uncle was in a recon squadron. "This Above All" from the 6th picture was with the 311th Reconnaissance Wing, per this website

Thanks for posting these, I never get tired of WWII nose art.
