What would happen if the Vice President of the U.S. killed the President and was found not guilty? Could he still be president?

I don't see any reason that the VP wouldn't become president since you said he was found not guilty. Therefore, the VP committed no crime as far as the law in concerned and the hierarchy continues to funciton as designed.
