History Today ([here's their web site] (http://www.historytoday.com/)) is a decent monthly, with professional historians writing on interesting facets of all eras of history aimed at general readers. It's published in the UK. BBC publications also has [BBC History] (http://www.bbc-history.com-sub.biz/). I've not read it, but if it's on a par with BBC Music it would be decent.
Reviews in American History is fantastic. Each issue is a collection of review essays. They review a book by discussing the book, the relevant historiography, and the history. Lots to learn in each essay.
