Did slave owners receive any type of reimbursement towards slaves bought following the abolition of slavery?

In the United states they did not, though I am not sure about other countries. U.S. slave owners were not reimbursed following the Civil War and the abolition of slavery. Even the slave states that had remained in the Union was not granted reimbursement. That is not to say that they were not given the chance though. Lincoln repeatedly attempted to persuade the northern slave states to abolish slavery with reimbursement granted to slave owners by the government, but they repeatedly declined.

Depends on the country. Dutch slave-owners in Surinam and the Carribean got 300 guilders a head when slavery was abolished in 1863. (some 6700 euro in today's money). Slavery in the other Dutch colonies had already petered out by then.
