Korean Slavery -- Someone told me to ask here. [X-Post, Link in Text]

I read the original thread and to ask a couple of specific questions.

  1. Could someone expand in the articles linked to in the thread, especially regarding the role of Slave in Korea compared to other famous Slave periods (America, Rome, Greece Egypt etc)

  2. How and why has Korean slavery been socialised as part of the 'national narrative'.

I add this because many of my students would likely get very angry at mentioning this and many Korea and historic dramas (well the ones I've seen) slaves are ignored or the era is portrayed in the a more positive note.

N. B. Obviously western media can be just as guilty of this in our own media.

Finally, apologies for any errors and lack of links, I'm on my mobile (on the seoul metro with lightening fast mobile internet) God bless Korea.
