My grandfather was involved in action during the battle as part of the 2nd Infantry Division, 23 Infantry Regiment, 1st Battalion, Baker Company. He was wounded September 2, 1950.
He has started to lose his memory and has asked me to put together some information about this engagement. I have the Wikipedia article and the declassified after action reports, but I am looking for personal accounts.
I know it's a long shot, but maybe some one who served in first battalion or their children, or grandchildren are on reddit.
Any help would be appreciated and thank you for your time.
If you are looking specifically for personal accounts, your best bet will be to check out memoirs of the war. I haven't read any books of that type in regards to Korea though. On Reddit specifically, you might have better luck posting in /r/AskReddit, with the Serious tag, just because your best chance is the maximum number of people seeing this.
Or heck, make an /r/IAmA request for a Korean War vet!
