Did the Roman Empire ever try to conqueror Ireland?

by girusatuku

I know they created Hadrain's wall to establish the boundary between Britannia and the Scottish people but was there any reason they did not try to invade Ireland? Did the Irish people have strong allies with the Scottish that wouldn't let the Romans attack or was Ireland so unimportant for them?
