Total speculation here. There are various other towns named Orangeville in the USA. Particularly likely to have been founded prior to Orangeville Ohio are Orangeville Pennsylvania, founded in 1780, and Orangeville New York, founded in 1816.

Orangeville Pennsylvania credits its name as deriving from Orange County New Jersey whence its original settlers came.

The oldest Orange County in America seems to be Orange County New York, which was founded in 1683, and named after William of Orange (who became King William III of "William and Mary" after the Glorious Revolution, and who was admired by the American colonists).

An hypothesis would be that the founders of Orangeville Ohio came from Orangeville Pennsylvania or Orangeville New York (or perhaps from Orange New Jersey or Orange County New York).

This is just based on the supposition that the name of the town moved west with the settlers.
