Need some good material on the Social Reforms/Reformers of 19th Century India???

by MrBigHouse

Rather than minute details I am looking for something that would give me wide coverage about all the reform movements. If possible please post few links of material available on the net for free.

Nothing that's peer reviewed and accredited is going to be free. Do you have access to any digital libraries? Are you in a university?

n since u/JJatt i have your attention I wanted to ask Prior to the Akali movement how were the Gurdwaras managed (all i know they were managed by "the corrupt mahants" so who were these mahant(a seperate sect or something & did they have their own central organisation like the SGPC(Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee) today??? ( I know that today Gurdwaras are managed by the SGPC) and moreover what about the various Gurdwaras outside India do they fall under the ambit of SGPC or does each country have its own GPC(Gurdwara prabhandak committee)
