How would have camels helped the confederacy in the American civil war if they were more widely used

They wouldn't have helped at all, unless the war would have somehow taken a sudden turn to the territories. While some minor engagements were fought in the Arizona territory, they were hardly significant and camels wouldn't have turned the tide for the Confederacy.

This seems like an odd question, but it has a describable root. Jefferson Davis did push to have camels imported for use in the territories, but he did this while he was Secretary of War for the United States. I don't believe the word camel ever left his lips while he was the president of the Confederacy.
