One of the oldest board games that is still played today is Senet, an Egyptian game revolving around dice rolls and racing that originated around 3500 BCE. Backgammon also appeared around the same time in Iran and enjoys continued popularity to the present day.

While these are the oldest games that we have discovered evidence of, there are likely others that were destroyed or have yet to be uncovered.
