I'm writing a paper about a major character and a little known character. I was thinking about the Grimke sisters for the major ones, but little known people are hard to find, because they're little known. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Do you know where I could find a little known figure? Thanks!
Early Reform includes: Second Great Awakening, Women's Rights, Education, Temperance, Utopian Communities, Abolition, Humane Treatment of Prisoners, etc.
What is your teacher considering little known? I would consider the Grimke sisters little known outside of people who study 19th century history. But some possible figures could include almost anyone in the Beecher family aside from Harriet Beecher Stowe. Cassius Clay, Francis Blair Jr., or John Quincy Adams post presidency are other potential candidates. Cassius would be my favorite of the bunch, he gutted a few pro slave men who attacked him, once defended his print shop from a mob by leveling a cannon on them.
