This may sound like a truly weird question, but I was in China recently and a few guys there told me Kim's recently "executed" girlfriend was apparently not making porno, but making a "classic Korean film" in a era where Korean women revealed both breasts (and nipples).
And apparently this tradition was stopped by the Japanese after they invaded the country (I.E considered indecency.)
Does this sound realistic to anyone? I thought it was really...odd.
While a blog post is not a reliable source this livejournal post references a couple of articles in the International Journal of Korean History on the subject of Joseon-era women's clothing.
A summary of those articles: rhere was some Korean xlothing styles worn mainly by working-class (not noble) women in the 18th and 19th centuries in which the lower part of the breasts and nipple might be shown, but this had little to do with sexuality, and everything to do with the practical issues involved in nursing babies.
