Will relics/items from the current era be uncovered, dug up, or otherwise discovered hundreds or thousands of years into the future, or are we well past the days in which civilisations can disappear?

Of course we are at the point where our civilization can't be forgotten, and so was the Roman Empire. But some smaller things will always be forgotten, so I guess future archeologists will have enough work to do.

I'm afraid this question isn't really appropriate for /r/AskHistorians, as it focuses on the present and the future rather than the past, and is more or less entirely speculative into the bargain.
