In this photo from the "Fallen 9,000" Project at Normandy, there are some large oddly shaped concrete objects or structures in the background. Does anyone know what they are and what if any is their historical significance?

Those look like they were part of a Mulberry Harbour. Artificial harbours constructed to allow ships to dock before the allies had secured a useable port. Because of it's location at Arromanch which was part of Gold Beach, my guess Mulberry B
