Did Nazism successfully change German society between 1933 and 1939?

Can you be more specific? Economically? Sociologically?

First of all, from an entry level look at this topic, I would actually recommend "In the Garden of Beasts" by Erik Larson. It looks primarily at the ways that Berlin changed during this period of time, but will give you some interesting anecdotes/impressions of the period.

Without a little bit more specificity though, it's hard for us to really comment on the ways in which society ON THE WHOLE changed during that period of time. Of course German society changed during this period of time-- there was a massive shift in the political landscape, and the early stages of some of the social and militaristic projects were certainly in effect during this period.

I think another thing you may want to specify here is a regionality of your inquiry. The spread of National Socialism wasn't instantaneous-- there were early bastions of the party, and then areas of the country that only started to follow along as the writing on the wall became clearer and it became more dangerous to swim against the tide.

You have a good question here, and honestly what I would consider to be the foundation of an interesting History/Anthropology research work, but you need to flesh out some more of your specific goals/questions-- the doom of any research project is being too vague.
