Warrior training of pre-Columbian native Americans

Its pretty well known, or dramatized about specific techniques and training of say; Ancient Greeks, Romans, samurai, medieval men at arms and knights, Vikings and so fourth. What about native Americans? What was their training like, What were their techniques like compared to other warriors of similar training and technology levels? For example, the average medieval man at arms of the 1200s compared to a pre- Columbian Cherokee warrior?

In short, nobody truly knows because of the lack of written record of such activities. Therefore, most historians study what was observed by Europeans upon contact or through native oral tradition. From my research, the seventeenth and eighteenth century eastern native would spend his days hunting or honing his warrior skills. Most other work (agricultural, domestic work, etc.) was left to the women.
