The first one that comes to mind is Lothar de Maiziére. He was the last MP of the GDR (and the only fairly elected one) and after the Iron Curtain fell he was a Member of Parliament and a Secretary of State. He resigned after a short while because he was accused to have colaborated with the Stasi. Today he is the honorary chairman of the CDU.
