I'm an APUSH student and have to do a project about the Vietnam War. Now I can't just do the entire war. Other students are assigned it too, but it's not a group project. I have to do something very specific about the war and despite my research I can't think of anything good to present about and was thinking you guys could help.
I know this might not be the best subreddit for what I'm asking, but I thought I might get the best answers here.
The role of the Hmong people in the war would be very interesting to study. Hmong guerrillas teamed up with U.S. special forces, later the leadership emigrated to the U.S.

A few years ago, an ex-Ranger who thought of the Hmong as brothers-in-arms, was accused of plotting an overthrow of the communist government in tandem with some of the old Hmong leadership in the U.S. Apparently they were going to buy a bunch of guns and take over Vietniane.
Consider a specific group: women (there's a great statue to nurses in Vietnam near the Wall in DC); a specific minority group, or the little-known Australian involvement in the war (decades ago I saw a great film dealing with Australian troops fighting in the war), or consider the stories associated with a specific state's veterans who fought there (consider doing oral histories or just one oral history using the resources at your nearest VFW post, VA hospital, and/or other VA facility). Just a few ideas. Good luck.
Itsallfolklore gave the excellent suggestion of looking into specific groups. Women are a great idea, and I would also recommend looking into minority groups as well: Hispanics and Asians are both underexplored.
