I found this gravestone on a mountainside in northern Italy. Could this be left over from WWII?

Here is a picture. http://i.imgur.com/FHHjSvC.jpg

I was staying in Trento, Italy and we hiked up Mount Bondone. A few hours into the hike up the mountain, I spotted this gravestone with just a cross on it. I know its a long shot, but I couldn't find any info on gravestones on mount bondone. But then again, my Italian is near non-existent.

And clues/ guesses are appreciated.

Dating such an item based solely on a picture is incredibly difficult. To my knowledge the Allies did not advance that far north during the Italian Campaign of WWII (This is nearly in the Alps on the Austrian Border). That being said it is possible that this grave stone is from the first world war based on it's design and location. There was a front established on the Italian Austro Hungarian Front. That being said I would say it is much more likely that it is a local grave with no link to either conflict.
