Hello fellow historians,
I've been looking for a long time to find a copy or transcript of the diary of Thomas Thistlewood, Jamaican slave owner during the 18th century.
Unfortunately, I've had no luck, other than locating third party analysis of the work with only small excerpts. Does anyone know where I can find this document?
Any direction or information would be greatly appreciated!
It looks like Yale recently purchased them from the Lincolnshire Archives, and some are available online, though not all. Since they just got them a few years ago it might take a while to get them all done, you should email and ask if they plan on doing more.
Looks like transcriptions have never been published, after a preliminary search in Worldcat. A full microfilm version (we used to do this back in the days before digitization) is also around in a couple of places, sometimes these do circulate through Inter Library Loan.
