We've had these paintings for around 20 years, and know nothing about either of them. Can anyone tell us anything about either of them?

They would seem to be 19th Century or later depictions of Queen Elizabeth I giving orders for the execution of Mary, Queen of Scots, (shown before her demise in the second picture). Mary was a Catholic, hence the profusion of rosaries and crosses.
That's Queen Elizabeth Tudor, I think. But I don't know what's going on in the picture,
