I remember a few years ago hearing about this (http://archaeologymatters2.blogspot.com/2010/03/two-men-arrested-attempting-to-sell.html?m=1) and being giddy. Have there been any updates?
Just a quick note on this: I've never heard about this find again, either. I'm going to ask some collegues during the day, but I doubt anyone else knows more about it.
By the way: The blog entry you linked is awful. It's very obviously based on a press release because there are some sentences that appear in every report on this case. The whole Lysippos part of the story is, in my opinion, merly used to arouse attention. There is just no way of proving scientifically whether this is an Lysippos original or not. The fact that it is likely that many statues of Alexander standing in this posture depend on a portrait statue created by Lysippos is another story. In fact, I'm quite sure that this is most certainly not a Lysippos original, as it's (1) a small figurine of (2) an artistically quite poor quality.
