Did the CIA ever successfully infiltrate the KGB?

I know there were many defections from the KGB to the CIA, but have never read about the CIA actually infiltrating the KGB.

Essentially, no, they did not - or if they did, it's escaped historians' knowledge, which is possible but probably not likely. We know a lot about a lot of failed attempts, but the Soviets so thoroughly infiltrated the Western security agencies (including the head of counter-intelligence for the UK) that they knew in advance about most agents who were air-dropped or tried to cross borders into the USSR, and were waiting at the landing zones. Defectors were invaluable, and about all there was.
