Not exclusively, since they are nomadic hunter-gatherers without agriculture, and this sort of lifestyle does not lend itself to state-like structures or standing armies. However, the 16th century Kuba Kingdom was a conglomeration of several Bantu-speaking Central African principalities, and one of the chiefdoms represented in that kingdom was the Twa (or Cwa, which is the Congolese variant), a "pygmy" tribe nowadays scattered throughout the Congo and the African Great Lakes.
