I saw a book mentioned in a post a while back and now I can't seem to find the post.

It was the story of a German soldier who was part of a unit that fought the Russians in order to link up with another German unit and then surrender to the Americans. It was obviously taking place at the very end of the war. The title used the word "guy" or its German equivalent.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?
