In the Eastern Front of WWI, did Eastern European nationalist groups outside of the Baltic, such as Poles, Ukrainians, etc., support or even fight alongside German troops?

It seems like something that would be natural with Operation Faustschlag and Germany's desire to make Ukraine and Poland independent -- even if as satellite states.

I believe that all three empires (Russian, German, Austrian) found it convenient to appeal to Polish nationalism by each forming their own Polish Legion and insinuate that victory for Russia/Germany/Austria might lead to Polish autonomy if the Poles performed well.
