Please can someone tell me wether the Jews were put into ghettos before they were shipped off to concentration camps? If so please can you also tell Me some of the anti- Semitic measure put into place, and how this went down with the Dutch? Thanks, its for a book I'm writing.

No, there were no Jewish ghettos. What happened is that due to exceptional good administration, the Nazis knew the exact home addresses of every Jewish family. They were rounded up several hundred at a time (this occurrence was called a "razzia") and temporarily held in a staging area. For example in Amsterdam , they were kept for several days in the Hollandse Schouwburg (which is now a place of remembrance). From there, they were put on trains to larger transit camps in the Netherlands (for instance Westerbork) or taken directly to the destruction camps in Germany and Poland.

Anti-Semitic measures put in place: they were forbidden to enter certain areas of the city, could not work nor conduct a business, had to wear a yellow Star of David identifying them as Jews.

The reaction of the Dutch population varied from mild indignancy to meh (disinterest). Some Dutch families would take in and hide Jews who had fled from deportation, and also other people at odds with the Nazis such as resistance fighters. This phenomenon was called "onderduiken", litterally "submege". Anne Frank and her family went "submerged" in het Achterhuis for instance.

Later on, when Nazis put out reward money for denouncing "onderduiken", there were many Dutch patriots who enthusiastically aided the Nazis in catching the "submerged". The persons who had hidden them were punished as well.

And of course, once the war was over, everyone and his uncle claimed to have secretly been in the resistance all along.
