How much can the Puritan influence still be seen/felt in modern America?

This is going to sound a bit pedantic, and I apologize for that, but as your question stands, it violates our rules. We have this rule to circumvent talking about more recent politics, like the other post in this thread that I removed. As that removed comment demonstrates, we will be led down a path that is more about contemporary politics and less about history. Could you rephrase it, or even simply edit the following section out

Today, it seems the Puritan frame-of mind can be found in America's economical, educational, legal, and political systems where the work ethic as well as a heightened moral fiber is generally praised and rewarded.

Replacing it with something like

Can we see the Puritan frame-of-mind active in the early 90s in the US, in terms of economics, education, and law? Additionally, can we trace the praise and reward of the American work ethic and heightened concern for the nation's moral fiber to the Puritans?

You can copy and paste that word from word, if you like. Let me know what you decide to do. I would favor you resubmitting. Here is why: If I reapprove your edited question, it will no longer appear in the "new" section, and the majority of reads will probably never see it.
