This is part of a hand crafted book/diary that was found in a hidden compartment of a peice of antique furniture by a friend during a restoration. Does this writing look familiar to anyone? The handwriting is definitely Japanese. If you rotate the image 90 degrees counterclockwise, it's easier to see. See if anyone on /r/translator can read it.
