What happened to the original founder of what became the Nazi Party, Anton Drexler?

by MisterFiftyFifty

Anton Drexler was a man who, after WWI, founded the DAP (German Workers' Party) in 1919. Hitler eventually joined up in 1919 and pushed Drexler out of the leader position of the party, by now renamed the NSDAP (National Socialist German Workers' Party, AKA the Nazi Party). After Hitler's failed 1923 coup, he sort of faded into obscurity. Anyone know what became of him before he died in 1942?

Even German sources are not really telling anything about him. He got the Blutorden in 1934 and never regained any influence. His book "Mein politisches Erwachen" ~My political awakening was republished in 1937. He died in 1942, relatively secluded from society.
I dont think that you will find much more about him since he was not really seen as an important person. The Nazis saw him as a relatively weak leader and he was not suited for propaganda. As far as I can tell he also didnt publish any memoirs.
