The connection is only superficial, because Indo-Europeans, Egyptians and Semites each had their own pantheon. But the Greeks tried to connect the gods anyway, so they created a system called Interpretatio Graeca, where basically every Greek god had a foreign equivalent, for example Zeus = Egyptian Amon = Roman Jupiter.
