Since the fledgling US found allies in the French, Spanish, and Dutch, all of whom are neighbors to Great Britain, was there any conflict in Europe between them? I am aware of some naval battles in the area (John Paul Jones), but only with Americans against the Crown.
On the European continent the French and Spanish laid siege to Gibraltar for over three years but did not succeed in capturing it.
