I'm not sure what exactly you mean by "completely stamped out". If you mean that a country ceased existing as a political entity or lost sovereignty, then there are very many countries like that. Poland, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, Armenia, Hungary, Israel, Georgia, Norway, Sweden - just a few examples. I'm sure there are many more in other parts of the world but I'm not as familiar with Asia and Africa.
Other than that it gets a bit ambiguous. For example, in some sense modern Iran draws its origins to ancient Achaemenid Persia. Between then an now a number of different states and empires occupied that geographic region (Iranian plateau). Are they all just different versions of the same state, if you will, or are they different?
