The progressives were able to bring reforms through muckraking and legislating on issues. They were able to target social, political and economic issues and introduce legislature to combat said issue.

Economic reforms include the Clayton Anti trust act, which specifically targeted large monopolies and trusts from forming. The progressives also formed the federal reserve as well as introduced federal income tax.

On the societal level, the most powerful legislation was the 18th amendment which prohibited the sale and consumption of alcohol. This had an huge impact on society in the following decade by creating a new black market.

Some of the most important political reforms include the constitutional amendments that allowed for the direct election of Senators as well as women's suffrage which has had an enormous impact throughout the century.
