Was there ever any real talk or possibility of the former USSR states in Eastern Europe or other nations that had Russian issues (Finland, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Turkey, etc) forming their own NATO-type defense pact?

polish led NATO after WW1. Didn't work, not enough time. No major country which would push it forward. Poland was still too weak to push it, others were weak/didn't want to/didn't trust other countries.
