The Palaiologos was the last dynasty of the Byzantine Empire. Constantine, the last Roman emperor, died in the fall of Constantinople. But it looks like they do have some notable descendants today.
Look up the despots of Morea, they were a cadet branch of the house of Palaiologos. From what I can remember a scion of that branch tried to sell his claims for the throne of Byzantium to various European royals.
