By "outspoken" are you sure your teacher meant politically, or could she have meant it a more in a way that would be against the cultural norm in general? I looked into it a bit and I see more women were given lobotomies, but nothing that would indicate they were for political reasons. Most of the articles mentions that lobotomies were given to people who had or displayed excesses of emotion, along with other ailments. So did your teacher give any other details that might be able to help us?
