Need some travel recommendations for Krakow similar or related to Auschwitz

by _o_O_o_O_o_

I will be visiting Krakow in May. Auschwitz is an essential on my list, as is the Schindler factory. Any other historic recommendations for Poland in a similar vein? I also have the possibility of being able to visit Warsaw for a day? What are some essentials that I can see there?

I hope this is the right forum for my question.. Thanks!

The salt mine is fascinating and involves elements of history if not actually being an outright historical destination. Very worth it!

relatively close you have Majdanek. there is more, but some of them are in bad shape and they are scatered across poland, what can be a problem (like Treblinka ) and in Kraków you have Memorial

This isn't history related but a general tip. Since you're going to be in Kraków I'd highly recommend having a night out there if you can - it's got some great nightlife. Start off in the Kazimierz district for the cool bars there, then head to the Old Town Stare Miasto to find a club or cellar bar.

Maybe fill your belly with meat at Pod Wawel first, it's situated right next to Wawel castle (the name literally means Under Wawel).

If you're into history and happen to be in Warsaw after all, make sure to visit the Warsaw Uprising Museum.
