Is there any insight to how the lifestyle or technology of Aboriginal Australians changed between them first arriving on Australia and the arrival of white explorers?

Apparently Aboriginal Australians arrived on the continent between 40,000 and 60,000 years ago. Since that time, is it known how their lifestyle or technology changed? I know that Aboriginal Australians are often stereotyped as being "primitive", but I was curious to know what sort of adaptations they created to suit their environment.

Shelters, adaption to the environment, trade(both foreign & domestic), crops, monuments, networks of government, astronomy, navigation, communication networks and religious networks from coast to coast...the list goes on....you should get the documentary series called 'First Footprints' it seems to glean out some but not all of the main things... ....and pick up some books by Henry Reynolds and others.
