By definition, totalitarian states control all aspects of life within the state. Nazi Germany was completely a totalitarian state. The Nazis controlled the media with propaganda, regulated and censored the arts, restricted certain religions while promoting their own ideology, indoctrinated the youth with the Hitler Youth, directly controlled the government and political process, etc.
