Why is Nixon typically remembered as the rotten crook when J.F.K and his family did a ton more illegal things

I want to draw your attention to section of our rules about moralizing. For that reason, I have removed your question.

Your question, as it is presented, seems to be arguing that the Kennedy family should be condemned. Or merely that the Kennedy reputation should not be so positive.

Incidentally, you mention that "J.F.K and his family did a ton more illegal things" but only really mention Rosemary Kennedy's lobotomy. An act that is unethical, but was not illegal at the time.

I would urge you to rephrase the question. Something like "why is the Kennedy family popularly remembered in a positive light despite many scandals?" captures the spirit of your question (I think), without indicating a pre-judgement.

Edit-Also, if you can be as specific as possible in what events you mean, by explicitly saying "Joe Kennedy Sr is believed to have bought Chicago in 1960" for example, or whatever specific events. Do not mention unspecified "tons of illegal things"
