What was it like to live in the Western Roman Empire around its last century 376 to 476? In particular, what was different in living in a frontier province to Rome or Italy?

That may actually be too broad a swathe of history to cover, in one hundred years the life of people in the modern world varied wildly. Perhaps just the first half of the fifth century, or when there was still a 'safe' part of the empire and a not safe.

Jeez, you guys are strict. I specified a time period here, not just saying 'what was it like to be a roman'

Anyway, my question is then, What were the dangers of life in this period? In particular compare frontier provinces and rome? What were the principal fears of the populace?

Removing for violating our rules on "in your era" type questions.

As the other poster has mentioned, please be more specific as to what you want to know about life in the last century of the western roman empire. Whole books and book series have been written on the subject as worded by your rather generalized question.
