This is just off the top of my head, I'm sure someone can link to an actual article. Basically they established a lot of social welfare and did a lot of job creation (for Aryans only of course). A major part of their plan was to help Germany recover from the post ww1 economic ruin. Regarding government, once they totally took over in 1933 you couldn't have a government job without being on the nazi party's good side and if you were on their bad side you had no hope of any job short of manual labour. The shortfall was that their system of providing for their people was based on what they could take from everyone else, requiring a constant influx of resources to keep it going.
