In Hitler's last will and testament the position of Furher was dissolved and replace with two positions President, which had been merged with the chancellorship by hitler, and the position of "leading" minister, which was a new position created by hitler that was the equivalent of the chancellorship of old.

The president was Karl Donitz and the new position of leading minister was given to the obscure minister of finance, Lutz Graf Schwerin von Krosigk.
