Historical account of Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

I would like recommendations of an in-depth unbiased account of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict.

The AskHistorians booklist provides some great sources. It seems to have a book addressing exactly what you're looking for.

Palestine and the Arab-Israeli Conflict: a history with documents by Charles Smith

Some say it has a slight pro-Palestinian slant, but it's well sourced and I don't know of any other books I'd recommend. If you really want to get into the history of the conflict, this is a good starting point. If you're curious about other specifics, I encourage you to ask in other threads for either questions/explanations, or ask for a book covering that specific question. Smith's book, while good, is describing in ~650 pages over 65 years of history...and 10 pages a year of the history is not going to cut it. You could fill whole volumes with the events/motivations of just one year's actions, especially around issues like the 1936 Arab Revolts.

So if you want a good place to start, that book is it. But I wouldn't recommend taking it as an end-all, and I encourage you to do more research after if you're interested or want to know more!

google scholar is a good source for (free) academic journals.

It'll be hard to find a non-bias account. If I were you I'd get a book written by an Israeli and someone from someone who was in an Arab league state.
